Toastmasters Club in Korea
Being an active toastmaster in India for the past six months and also serving as a vice president public relations, I don’t want to leave the taste of toastmaster in Korea. So once I reached Korea, I started looking for the clubs near to me. Two such clubs, which I found were Itaewon Toastmasters Club and Blue ribbon Toastmasters Club. I started joining Itaewon toastmasters club online initially, then after 3 to 4 meetings, I visited the club in person. It happened every Sunday evening from 3pm to 5pm.
What a gracious welcome I had there. I was never treated like a stranger, and the courteousness with which the toastmasters spoke to me made me feel at ease. People of all ages were present, which created a more favourable learning atmosphere. I then began attending the weekly in-person meetings. Even though it was distant from my home, I still enjoyed myself while there and talking with the Korean toastmasters. I participated in a variety of roles throughout each meeting, and it was wonderful to learn from individuals from various cultures. Infact, I gave my icebreaker speech in the club.
The Blue Ribbon Toastmasters Club, which
held meetings on Saturday mornings, was presented to me by one of the
toastmasters at the Itaewon Toastmasters Club. I didn't pass up the
opportunity. I went there as well. The Blue Ribbon Toastmasters Club had a many
members and was extremely well-organized. They only held meetings offline. They
gave me a warm welcome as well. So, my weekends were filled with enjoyable and
educational Toastmasters meetings. I joined them for lunch (at the Blue Ribbon Toastmasters
Club) and dinner (at the Itaewon Toastmasters Club) right after the meeting.
